Ohio Professional Cosmetologist
Association Annual Student Competition

The Ohio Professional Cosmetologist Association would like to recognize the first place winners for their annual statewide student competition. Nineteen schools, 211 competitors, several hundred models, supporters and volunteers attended.

First place winners:

• Ladies Consumer Style: Lorrin Pizzillo of Medina County Career Center, Medina

• Fantasy Art Makeup: Mary Sawyer of Brown Aveda Institute, Mentor

• Bridal: Jamie Owens of Normandy High School, Parma

• Artistry in Ebony: Dyenexxus Llimson of South High School, Cleveland

• Nails Phase I and II: Aleah Upton of Cuyahoga Valley Career Center, Brecksville

• Total Points Nails: Aleah Upton of Cuyahoga Valley Career Center, Brecksville

• Fantasy Mannequin: Mellisa Spellary of Medina County Career Center

• Avant-garde Mannequin: Tia Johnson of Ohio Valley Career Center, West Union

Ladies Team:

• Desiree Damer, Samantha Hall and Amber Wood of Medina County Career Center

• Mary Tolar, Sarah Brodnik and Stephanie Lubano of Cuy Valley C.C., Brecksville

• Kelly Lynn Pies and Maria Brubaker of Aveda Fredric’s Institute, Cincinnati

Ohio Professional Cosmetologist Association is gearing up for our next statewide student competition on November 17, 2008. They will be sending out competition packages to all Ohio cosmetology schools in September. This event adds excitement to the school curriculum and helps reinforce skills the teachers work hard to share with the students.
